When I was growing up and in school in the seventies, the big thing, musically, at that time was KISS. With them and all the other bands, they had the long hair, make-up, smoke, loud noise, it just didn't appeal to me at that time. I was always playing ball. Football, basketball, and baseball was all I cared about. Oneday, I think it was around 1974, when my brother wasn't home, I went through his albums, to see what he had. He was just a year older than me so it couldn't have been too much. What I found would change my mind about music. The cover was a picture of four guys playing music wearing suits and ties. The album was called "Something New" and the group was called The Beatles. I just stared at the cover for a while. Who are these guys? Then I put the record on, Wow! Why haven't I heard this before?? To me, the songs were fun, exciting, fresh, something new(to me). I played it over and over until I learned all the words to every song, even I Want To Hold Your Hand in German. At school they thought I was crazy for liking a group that had broke up years ago. They didn't get it, but I did. I was hooked on these great songs, and still am today. They wrote about love, their life experiences, things that were happening around them and you could understand it, identify with it, even today. It's the music that touches you. They're great !
